SURREY PLACE

Douglasville, Georgia

This Queen Anne Victorian was popular particularly in the Midwest at the height of the Victorian period in the 1880's - 1890's. Inspired by homes in Chicago, this home shows the massing, hips, and gables popular in the Queen Anne period, along with a circular turret and flared skirt. Its floor plan is a mix of dedicated front rooms and open relaxed back rooms. Like historical carriage houses, the garage has simplified features and open eaves.
