PALMETTO PARK

Douglasville, Georgia

This home is a Classical Colonial Victorian, which was popular particularly in the South at the end of the Victorian period, and leading into the TND period of the early 1900's. Inspired by homes in Palmetto, Georgia, this home shows the massing, hips, and gables popular in the Queen Anne period "streamlined" with classical Greek columns and plain broad walls of Colonial farmhouses. Its floor plan is a mix of dedicated front rooms and open relaxed back rooms. Like historical carriage houses, the garage has simplified features and open eaves.
